Event Trophy: Explorer by The-Below

VOYAGE OF THE WARDENS

"And Into the Storm I Go to Lose My Mind, and Find my Soul."

For the first time in ages the forgotten Dead lands have open shores and the storms isolating it from Empyrean have calmed, allowing travel both to and from the long forgotten land. The long thought extinct Wardens are leaving the shores en mass, scouting out the new world with their flights and companions, eager to discover what has been missed during their time of isolation. Brave adventurers, scholars, historians, and ambassadors alike are flocking to the continent, eager to solve the mystery of the Dead lands. There is much to be learned in the dawn of this new age, and hopes are high that the knowledge can be used and shared for the benefit of Empyrean.

Will you join the exploration?

How it Works:

A dragon may complete each path to knowledge only once, so choose wisely on whom you wish to follow a prompt line as you cannot go back and do it again with the same dragon. Once you start a path line, you cannot include extra dragons unless the prompt is a collaboration. A single dragon can only go on one of the paths, meaning if you take your dragon down the norther end, you cannot take them down the central port and vice versa.

Among the rewards there is lore about the Dead lands and Empyrean that you will discover at the end of most paths. Lore pieces are assigned to multiple paths, but you will never be given a duplicate lore piece. Based on decisions, more paths will become available to you, unlocking new world and species lore as you travel and complete prompts. At the end of the event all the lore discovered will be compiled and made available for all of Empyrean. Lore that has not been discovered will remain that way. Completing prompts will reward your dragon in trophies, items, and lore. Lore that is compiled will have to markers of who discovered what pieces, allowing you to be an active participant in shaping the knowledge of Empyrean!

Stages

  1. This event has three stages, the first and second stage will remain open until the end of the third stage.
    1. The second stage will open on June 20th.
  2. The third stage will unlock during the second stage and remain open until the goal is met.
  3. There will be a grace period for all stages in the event that the second and third end too quickly.

Event Points

Event points are rewarded during Stages one and two. For each lore piece found in stage one, you are given 2 event points. Lore pieces can only obtained by reaching the end of a story path. Some paths do not have lore at the end, for these paths, you will earn 1 event point. Rewards for the event are broken down into three tiers. The first tier is available at the end of the event, but by reaching certain milestones in stage three you can unlock the second and third reward tiers.

Rules:

  1. Images must be full body (50% showing) colored and shaded as well as fit all prompt requirements, but may otherwise be interpreted as you please to fit your character/game play style!
  2. All entries must fit the world lore. No AU settings or modern day elements may be present in order for your entry to count.
  3. Literature entries must be 850 words and satisfy prompt requirements, but may also be tailored to fit your game play style and character.
  4. Collaborations are allowed! Feel free to explore the wastes with your flight members, friends, or lore partners.
  5. Commissioning entries, or otherwise made by other people, is not allowed, you must unlock each path and story line yourself!
  6. Your dragon can take damage during the event! Keep an eye on your health, if your dragon is defeated they can not continue until revived.
    1. In stage 1 you may run into prompts where you must battle an enemy, they are rare!
    2. In stage 2 you can become injured by your surroundings, much like in hunting/fishing/foraging. Be wary of dangerous poisonous plants!
    3. Stage 3 details are locked, stock up on armor and health.

Special Note:
Prompts are extremely loose in their interpretation. You may draw or write about your dragon at any point in the prompt, not simply the instructions given to you based on your decision. Example: You may display your dragon reacting to parts of the written prompt as well as the actual “draw your dragon doing this” prompt.

“You” can mean a number of things. It can mean your dragon, it can mean your dragon and another dragon, and it can mean your dragon and their companion. Any prompt can be re-imagined as you wish to accommodate how you choose to play the event, and even if something says a companion performs an action, you may replace that with your dragon!

Allowed Items

Some prompts may put you in a battle, while rare, it is best to be prepared! For Stage 1 the following items are allowed:

  1. All Armors
  2. *The Aether book allows you to cast one spell, in the event you do not have Aether Restoration started.
  3. Applied tonics and skills

Stage One: ARRIVAL

The waters are eerily calm as you approach the unknown lands, and the crew is silent as they watch for the danger they were told of. The ship creaks as it nears what looks to be a safe docking position, an outcropping of basalt rocks that line the shore. The sails are brought in, and the anchor is prepared as the captain guides the ship through the sharp rocks littering the approach, knuckles white on the wheel and eyes focused on the task at hand. The ship glides closer, cutting the still waters effortlessly as everyone on board braces for a threat that doesn’t seem to come.
The basalt slows the ship’s crawl to a stop as it comes in contact with the rocks. The anchor is dropped and the crew hesitantly congratulates each other on a successful journey. Wary glances are thrown around, and you feel a knot in the pit of your stomach begin to form. That was far too easy.
The rest of the crew seems unwilling to debark from the ship, standing around and waiting for some brave soul to be the first off. You take a breath and realize they’re all looking at you and your dragon, lovely.

North End:

The north end of the island is its lowest point, basalt covered shorelines and heavy tides make up the borders of the region. Those looking for a challenge docking will begin here. This route is mildly dangerous, and provides explorers with a chance to discover new creatures, plant life, and other unknown elements.Depict your dragon reaching the shores of the northern end of the continent, needed imagery includes rocky outcroppings, the ocean, and a sandy beach. You may include caves in the rock faces, or mild vegetation. Bear in mind that the Dead land is full of dead vegetation, with very few areas of living plants and animals.

Central:

The most central west-facing shoreline is the safest, sandy grey beaches welcome boats of all sizes, and one singular large dock juts from the shoreline to greet visitors. There is a small population of companions and Wardens here, eager to assist and welcome those they have been apart from for so long. This is the safest route, and provides opportunity for interaction of the existing population that has long been thought dead or gone. Depict your dragon reaching these shores. Needed imagery includes a dock or small buildings. You may choose to include local people and their dragons, vegetation, or other signs of a village. This is area has more life than the northern end, but the same decayed state still plagues this region.

The Southern Peninsula:
Locked until Stage Three.
Choose a destination wisely, and draw or write about your dragon (with or without a companion) approaching, reaching, and landing on the shores of the new continent. The destination choice must be clearly represented in literature or art!

F.A.Q.

  1. Can I take my dragon back down the same path to get all endings?
    1. No, a dragon may only go down one path, either the northern or southern with no option to back track or take a different route after starting.
  2. Is it possible to get all trophies on one dragon?
    1. Yes! Trophies are used in multiple prompts, but if you don't obtain them in Stage 1, there is a chance in stage 2!
  3. Is it possible to get the same lore piece twice?
    1. No! All lore is rolled unique to your account, if you have one Lore ID discovered, you will not discover it again.
  4. Is it possible to get all the lore pieces?
    1. To an extent you may achieve all the lore pieces of a single section, however the same cannot be said about all the lore pieces
  5. How do I revive/heal my dragon?
    1. Go to the Spring Hospital Requests where you may use the items listed there to heal your dragon, or revive them.

  7. If I lease my dragon to someone, can I still take them on the prompt paths myself?
    1. No, they have been used already in a path and cannot be used again.
  8. Can I gift my event points to someone else?
    1. No, but you may exchange your event points for items and gift/trade them to the other person
  9. Can I look ahead at the other prompt responses to see which paths I want to take next?
    1. Yes, but it is not recommended so that you get the full experience of mystery and excitement! Even at the end of a path that out come of the lore may be different.
  10. How many lore pieces are there?
    1. Many!
  11. Can I use starters?
    1. Only if you have 0 - 1 dragon in your position! If you have 2 or more you cannot! If you have no dragons you may use 2 starters, if you have 1 dragon you may use 1 starter! Beyond this we suggest you lease dragons from the community!
